Introducing PiA’s Newest Fellow in Sri Lanka

We are thrilled to announce that our newest Princeton in Asia Fellow is now in post in Sri Lanka! Victoria Blymier is our new Fellow at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

PiA first began sending Fellows to Sri Lanka in 2012 for fellowships with Land O’Lakes International Development, and since then 24 additional Fellows have immersed themselves at 6 different host organizations throughout the country. Victoria is driven and compassionate, and excited to be communicating complex scientific research to the public through her post at IWMI. Victoria graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and concentrations in Environmental Sustainability and Global Health; and Peace, Global Security, and Conflict Resolution from American University in May 2022.

She is most passionate about advocating for human rights, environmental sustainability, and education equity. During her Princeton in Asia fellowship, Victoria has been supporting the communications and knowledge management team for the International Water Management Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to convey research-based environmental solutions to water challenges in developing countries. After beginning her fellowship remotely, she is excited to be immersed in her host community in Sri Lanka.

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is an international, research-for-development organization that works with governments, civil society, and the private sector to solve water problems in developing countries and scale up solutions. Through partnerships, IWMI combines research on the sustainable use of water and land resources, knowledge services and products with capacity strengthening, dialogue, and policy analysis to support implementation of water management solutions for agriculture, ecosystems, climate change, and inclusive economic growth. IWMI has hosted Fellows in Sri Lanka since 2012, and Fellows have worked in communications roles to translate the scientific findings of the organization into widely accessible and compelling formats.
