Program in East Asian Studies at Princeton University

The East Asian Studies (EAS) Program is an umbrella organization for East Asian studies and related departments at Princeton University. Its members are drawn from the cooperating Departments of Anthropology, Art and Archaeology, Comparative Literature, East Asian Studies, Economics, History, Music, Politics, Religion, Sociology, and the School for Public and International Affairs. The Program in East Asian Studies provides support for PiA Fellows studying East Asian languages and for fellowships for candidates from historically minoritized backgrounds.

Global Equity Forward

Global Equity Forward is a strategic consulting and advisory company for international inclusion, diversity, and racial awareness. Dr. Mya Fisher, the Chief Executive and Transformation Officer for Global Equity Forward has worked with PiA to provide key trainings during orientation around living one’s identity and building cross-cultural understanding in Asia as well as benign a supportive Fellow within one’s cohort. Dr. Fisher has also conducted a DEI-focused training for the PiA Board of Trustees

The Konterra Group

The Konterra Group helps PiA Fellows and staff to leverage strengths and build resilience and thrive in the midst of the challenges associated with adapting to unfamiliar cultures, unstable environments, or when experiencing a traumatic incident. The Konterra Group trains Fellows and staff to equip them with new ways of viewing stress and with tools to manage and work through the challenges they face, particularly in high stress environments.

Atlas Corps

The mission of Atlas Corps is to address critical social issues by developing leaders and strengthening organizations through training programs and a global alumni community of skilled social change professionals. Profiled as a “best practice” in international exchange by the Brookings Institution and featured in the Washington Post as a model social entrepreneurship program, Atlas Corps engages leaders committed to the nonprofit sector in 12 to 18 month, professional fellowships at organizations to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers. In 2023, Princeton in Asia is hosting its first Atlas Corps Fellow to primarily assist with the work of the program team.
