杀年猪, or The Yearly Pig Killing, is a Heqing County custom that most families take part in near the end of the lunar year.  As a curious epicure, I wanted to document the event from the point of view of one local family, and record the close relationship that people here have with their food.  I hope you find it interesting and enlightening.
